A couple trapped in a discussion about a birthday cake and nail polishers. Actus explores the blurred lines between reality and simulation. Departing from the idea of representation, time and space is manipulated in order to provoke a fissure in the otherwise stable relationship between spectator and spectacle. The video was the recipient of the Best Video Award at FIVA International Festival of Videoart (Argentina) and of the Piracicaba Art Salon Acquisition Award (Brazil). The other two videos of the series, Actus #2 and Actus #3, were initially presented together with Actus in an installation version. They present the two actors of Actus in a super close up staring at the camera, in slow motion, caught in a moment of fragility and emotion.
